1948年：2月27日長野市生まれ
1967年：渡西。サラマンカ大学にてカスティーリャ語（スペイン語）を修得
1968年：スペイン国立サン・ホルヘ美術大学に入学（バルセロナ）
1970年〜：各都市にて個展を開催。
バルセロナ、マドリード、ビルバオ、タラゴナ（スペイン）、
ジュネーブ（スイス）、長野、松本、名古屋、高岡、新潟、佐渡、鎌倉、神戸、横浜、東京など
1973年：現代日本版画作家展（バルセロナ）
1977年：創形美術学校 版画研究科卒業（東京都国立市）
1978年：スペイン王立応用美術アカデミー 石版画科講師（バルセロナ）
Joan Barbará’s Studio studio46にてジョアン・ミロ、ラピエスらの刷り師を開始（バルセロナ）
1981年：銅版画作家として本格的に活動開始
1984年：ナルテックス画廊 版画工房主任（バルセロナ）
第23回 国際ジョアン・ミロ賞 主席（ジョアン・ミロ財団）
1985年〜：毎年ジュネーブおよびミラノにて展示（EDITART）
1986年〜：国際芸術見本市「ARCO」（マドリード）に出品（ESTI ARTE）

Kouji Ochiai: Chronology
1948 Born on February 27 in Nagano City, Japan.
1967 Moved to Spain. Studied Castilian (Spanish) at the University of Salamanca.
1968 Enrolled in the Sant Jordi Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Barcelona).
1970– Held numerous solo exhibitions across major cities
: Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Tarragona (Spain); Geneva (Switzerland); Nagano, Matsumoto,
Nagoya, Takaoka, Niigata, Sado, Kamakura, Kobe, Yokohama, and Tokyo (Japan).
1973 Participated in the "Contemporary Japanese Printmakers Exhibition" (Barcelona).
1977 Graduated from the Department of Printmaking, Sokei Academy of Fine Arts & Design (Kunitachi, Tokyo).
1978 Appointed as a Lithography Instructor at the Royal Academy of Applied Arts (Barcelona).
Began working as a master printer for Joan Miró and Antoni Tàpies at Joan Barbará’s Studio 46 (Barcelona).
1981 Commenced full-scale activities as an intaglio (copperplate) artist.
1984 Awarded First Prize at the 23rd Joan Miró International Drawing Prize (Fundació Joan Miró).
1985– Began annual exhibitions in Geneva and Milan through EDITART.
1986– Exhibited at ARCO (International Contemporary Art Fair, Madrid) with ESTI ARTE.
1988– Exhibited at FIAC (Paris) and Art Basel (Switzerland).
1989 Recognized by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando
as one of the "150 Contemporary Spanish Artists," listed alongside masters such as Picasso and Miró.
1990 Released the print collection "Five Seasons" (Five Seasons of the Heart) at Sanno Gallery.
1992 Exhibited in the "Miró and Spanish Artists" exhibition at Nagano Tokyu Department Store.
1995 Exhibited in "Source of Life" (Nagano Tokyu), the "Japan-Hungary Contemporary Print Exhibition"
(Kamiyamada Cultural Hall),
the "FUSION" exhibition (Museum of Fine Arts, Gifu)
2004 solo exhibition at the Castle of Papa Luna (Peniscola, Spain).
2007 Exhibited "LES VÊSPRES" at Kinokuniya Gallery (Featuring poetry by Maiko Sugimoto and Sylvie Jacquot).
2009 Held the solo exhibition "Rinne: Kouji Ochiai" at the Shiga Kogen Roman Museum.
2010 Exhibition "Lueurs sur le cœur" MICHEL BUTOR (EDITART).
2024 Passed away on April 11 due to a house fire.
2025 Posthumous Retrospective: "LIFE AFTER LIFE: Kouji Ochiai Retrospective" at The Ueno Royal Museum Gallery (Tokyo).
2026 AUTOUR DE MICHEL BUTOR (Geneva, Switzerland).
